Coral Coast Vacation Guide
Situated on the southern coast of Viti Levu, the 'Coral Coast' is one of Fiji's most well-known popular destinations and commences about an hour's drive along the Queens Highway from the Nadi International Airport. The highway then follows the coast southward providing one of Fiji's prettiest coastal drives for about 35 kilometers with stunning views of the many bays, beaches, villages and the fringing coral reef that gives the region its name.

Along the coast there are many places to stop and visit, including the provincial market town of Sigatoka, which is the Coral Coast's main commercial center. The Sigatoka sand dunes are an impressive feature on the coastline here, just north of the Sigatoka river mouth. Guided walks are available (entrance is on the left hand side of the highway shortly before reaching Sigatoka town from Nadi. A short way further down the highway is the village of Korotogo, where there are a cluster of resorts and lodges, along with privately owned homes, all sharing picturesque tropical views of the beach and outer reef. Korotogo is also the location of the Kula Eco-Park, which is dedicated to the conservation of Fiji Islands' indigenous flora and fauna and well worth a visit.
The Coral Coast, with its easy access from Nadi International Airport, was one of the first areas in Fiji to be opened up for tourism, so there are a number of well-established resorts and accommodation options along the coast. There has also been a number of new resorts developed in recent years due to the continued expansion of tourism in this region. Diving and snorkeling are popular activities with a number of dive resorts and independent dive operators.
