Resorts on Fiji's Sun Coast

The Sun Coast, sometimes known as the Sunshine Coast, is found in the northernmost region of Fiji's main island of Viti Levu in the Rakiraki area. There are some offshore islands close to the mainland, which have wonderful beaches and include the well-known Nananu-i-Ra, a long-term favourite for backpackers, but which also has newer more upmarket resort properties. With reefs and shallow waters around this area, the turquoise and sapphire blue ocean colours make for spectacular ocean vistas as well as great diving, windsurfing, kayaking and fishing. The region also has a higher than average proportion of sunshine hours - hence its name! It is not an over-commercialised part of Fiji so if you are looking for an island-style vacation, with tremendous sunsets, views and activities, the Sun Coast may be just right for you.
